Although he still performed parts on "From the Earth to the Moon" (HBO, 1998) and "The Larry Sanders Show" (HBO, 1992-98) Malina's first series regular role didn't come until "Sports Night" (ABC, 1998-2000). The collaborations with Sorkin would continue throughout his career, including many of Malina's most significant parts. In 1995, Malina appeared in "The American President" (1995), also scripted by Sorkin, this time starring Michael Douglas and Annette Bening. Malina continued to work in film and television, with supporting roles in "In the Line of Fire" (1993) and "Malice" (1993) among others. ![]() Upon graduation he made his way to Broadway and landed a lead role in a play from newcomer Aaron Sorkin called "A Few Good Men." Malina's first screen role was a small part in the filmed version of "A Few Good Men" (1992) starring Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson. Born in New York City, Joshua Malina found theater at an early age and attended the prestigious drama school at Yale University.
